Muted or monochrome?

Which do you prefer? I used the same stamp for two different effects. One monochromatic and one muted shades.

This first card uses shades of gold and cream. I popped up the stamped panel on the embossed panel.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - cream marle c/s from stash
Stamp - "Fresh cuts" from SU
Ink - gold metallic from Colourbox (stamp and sponging), ochre from Colourbox liquid chalks autumn set (sponging on edges)
Tools - Cuttlebug and embossing folder "Victoria", sponge daubers
Other - gold ric rac from stash
Adhesive - double sided tape, dimensionals, sticky strip

This card uses several different techniques. I shaded sections of the image with chalks and also the embossed panel. Edges are sponged with chocolate chip ink. I stamped the main image twice - once in chocolate chip and once in old olive. I then fussy cut the leaf images from the olive image and layered them on the chocolate chip. This panel was popped up on the old olive panel which was then popped up on the embossed panel.
The rhinestones were coloured with an old olive marker to match the colour scheme.
