White christmas

I'm dreaming.... Never likely to happen here in Oz but one day I would like to experience a white Christmas.  The closest I can come at the moment is white Christmas cards!!  These are companions to the red ones from a couple of days ago.  Same stamp set and image colours but totally different cards. I have popped some of the images, which are all fussy cut, and on the second card used dry embossing for the background.

Supplies :
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU
Stamp - "tree trimmings" from SU
Ink - kiwi kiss from SU
Other - red rhinestones from Kaisercraft
Adhesive - dimensionals

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU
Stamp - "tree trimmings" from SU
Ink - kiwi kiss chocolate chip and cherry cobbler from SU
Tools - Cuttlebug and embossing folder "snow dots"
Other - "crystalina" Kindyglitz
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals

Off to make some Christmas decorations! They will take a while so don't expect a post on them just yet.  It's a new technique and I expect some stuff ups at first (no pressure!).  Also trying to finish my modest haul of swaps for the SU regional here in Sydney next weekend.  I am going as a guest of my friend Karen (of Paper Lady).  I am quite excited to be seeing lots of new ideas and stuff demonstrated from the new catalogue (so many objects of 'lust').  Last weekend Karen had her catalogue launch and she had made some absolutely amazing things for the launch.  Check out Paper Lady on the side bar to see what I am drooling about!!

Red Christmas

Two cards today and they're both red!  They both use the same stamp set and colours too, but I think they look different.  Trying to show the versatility of the set! All the images are fussy cut. On the first card they are popped up but on the second card only the red one is popped.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU, red textured c/s from stash
Stamp - "tree trimmings" from SU
Ink - kiwi kiss, cherry cobbler and chocolate chip from SU
Other - (top card) silver rhinestones from Kaisercraft
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals

Off to make some more male cards. They tend to get forgotten in my love of bling and flowers!

Masculine birthday

I was sent these amazing photos of animals and I just had to share this one.  Check out those colours!!!
On to the card for today.  I have returned to "black and white timeless" for this one. I have used dry embossing, sanding and fussy cutting.  I sanded the embossed section to 'rough' it up a bit. The fussy cut cards are popped up.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white and basic black c/s from SU, "black and white timeless" from Kaisercraft, red c/s from stash
Stamp - "occasional greetings" from SU
Ink - memento black
Tools - Cuttlebug , K.Kingdom "plaid" embossing folder, SU sanding block
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals, small foam squares

We are into the finals season for umpiring so soon my weekends will be my own again - more time for crafting!! YAY!

This is a new paper pad by Kaisercraft called "black and white timeless".  Lots of lovely black and white and almost greyish brown images suitable for both male and female cards.  I chose to make a male card first up with two of the patterns.  One I used as is the other I fussy cut images from it and put crystal effects on some. The clock faces are mounted at varying heights.  the label is sponged around the edges.

Supplies:
Paper - crumb cake and basic black c/s from SU, "black and white timeless" from Kaisercraft
Stamp - "occasional greetings" from SU
Ink - crumb cake from SU

Other - black velvet ribbon from stash, black rhinestones from Kaisercraft, crystal effects
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, dimensionals, small foam squares

It will soon be Fathers day here so I might just send this one to my Dad.

Merry Christams (a start)

I just love Christmas ans it's the time of year when I start thinking and planning what craft I am going to do for the celebration this year.  The kids get involved too and enjoy the whole palaver as much as I do.  Their first job is to collect as many corny jokes and interesting bits of trivia for us to include in our homemade Christmas crackers.  The jokes have to be groan worthy and the trivia as obscure as possible. We also make crackers for friends too.  Our living room becomes a production line come November!!  Of course I also send out cards and this year I am also participating in some craft stalls leading up to Christmas so I am extra busy. Fun fun fun!!!  It all adds to the excitement.

Today's cards use the same set from SU - stamped and then fussy cut.  Some images are also popped up. Sort of one layer cards but maybe cheating a little!  Hope you enjoy.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white from SU
Stamps - "tree trimmings" from SU
Ink - kiwi kiss, chocolate chip and cherry cobbler from SU
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals and small foam squares

Next big project is making a special gift for my son's 18th.  I have a month to complete it but hopefully it won't take that long!  Can't believe I am the mother of an almost adult!  EEEEK! (I might have to be a little more grown up too)

Thanks so much

I love this stamp from SU. It is so easy to make it look different - depending on how you colour it.  I made these two cards using markers to colour and then just layered with co-ordinating ribbon - easy peasy!  I think they qualify as CAS cards so that's one challenge for the week out of the way.  Love all the different languages.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU, red and pink c/s from stash
Stamp - "so many thanks" from SU
Ink - various Tombow markers
Other - marina mist ribbon from SU, red spot from stash, green spot from stash, hot pink Kaisercraft rhinestones
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, dimensionals

I am going to make some sets of these for the spring market.  It's very easy to "production line" this stamp.  Angel policy applies though!

Vintage style

Hi everyone! Today's card is my attempt at some vintage style.  I coloured the image with chalks and double stamped the background in two different colours. Other than that it's pretty simple!

Supplies:
Paper - cream marle c/s from stash
Stamp -background: "wonderfully worn" by SU, flower: ""echoes of kindness" by SU
Ink - background: crumb cake and bordering blue, flower: chocolate chip all by SU, chalks by SU
Tools - stamp-a-ma-jig, cotton buds
Other - crochet cotton from SU, Maria George trinket pins
Adhesive - sticky strip, large zot

My son has finally finished his trial exams. What a relief for him - it will help him to gauge the areas he needs to brush up on before the big ones in October. Life continues to be a round of taxi-ing kids and trying to fit in craft around housework and appointments.  Life I guess!  Hope all is going well in your life.

Bring on the cake

Today's card uses the set "bring on the cake" from SU.  I hand-coloured the stamp and breathed on it before stamping. It is popped up on the pink c/s and then that is popped up on the card front. The scallop border was made using scissors.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU, pink c/s from stash
Stamp - "bring on the cake" from SU
Ink - various Tombow markers
Tools - large scallop scissors
Other - polka dot ribbon from stash, hot pink and mint rhinestones from Kaisercraft
Adhesive - sticky strip, dimensionals

Love your dreams

I was given this little stamp that says "in your dreams".  I decided to alter it to say "love your dreams". I first coloured the stamp with Tombow markers so I could leave off the "in". I then just coloured "dreams" and stamped it repeatedly across the bottom of the ribbon. The heart under the bed is popped up and covered in crystal effects.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU, red c/s from stash
Stamp - "in your dreams" by SU
Ink - Tombow markers
Tools - small heart punch
Other - spot ribbon from SU, crystal effects
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, tiny foam dots

Thanks

A thank you card and a thank you to all who look at my blog.  I like sharing and this is a fun way to do it!  If you ever feel like leaving a comment don't hesitate and I will even reply! Today's card is a CAS and just uses some simple layering.

Supplies:
Paper - peach parfait c/s from SU, "summer days" DSP from Echo Park
Stamp - "afterthoughts" from SU
Ink - peach parfait from SU
Tools - itty bitty flower punch from SU
Other - hot pink rhinestone from Kaisercraft

Guess what! Joy oh joy the jasmine has started to bloom.  I love the smell of jasmine and it always lifts my spirits when the end of winter is heralded by its gorgeous scent. Yay! Daffodils and all their variations and cousins can't be far away.

Other - old olive ribbon from SU, flower buttons from SU, other buttons from stash, linen thread from SU
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, glue dots

Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, glue dots

Going to make some more Christmas cards today.  My stash is coming along nicely for the "cards for the Troops" program (see Paper Lady for details).

Love is in the air!

Not for me.... I have the love of wonderful children and fabulous friends so romance is on the back burner for now. But... if it was to strike I might give this card - a bit girly but he would have to understand!!!
Lots happening in this one. The little hearts were all stamped and then fussy cut then stuck to a heart-shaped piece of card stock. The flowers and stems were also stamped then fussy cut.  The white  c/s piece was run through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder.  It was then edged with ink and the dots were highlighted with more ink using a flat stamp pad. Everything was popped up. The border along the bottom was stamped three times.  The bow is attached with glue dots.  The whole card was then edged with ink.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU
Stamps - border stamp from Technique Tuesday, Flowers from "live like you mean it" by SU, hearts from "i (heart) hearts" from SU
Ink - rich razzleberry and old olive from SU
Tools - Cuttlebug, "swiss dots" embossing folder, sponge dauber
Other - "snow" pearls from Kaisercraft, white organza ribbon from SU
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, dimensionals, tiny foam dots, glue dots

Don't get me wrong re: above ramblings.  I am very happy and content.  Never thought I would ever say that!
I used to be a real "gotta keep moving" type person in my younger days. Every bed of roses also has thorns and that's life. Good and bad.  To paraphrase a quote my daughter told me "It's not about weathering the storm but about learning how to dance in the rain"

Apologies to Kaisercraft! It's "hippy girl"

I totally got the name of this paper pack wrong! It's "hippy girl" not hippie chick.  Sorry if that caused confusion for people.  Anyway I have used it again for this card.  Originally I was going to make a monochromatic card but the pink crept in! The tag is  a die cut from the pack that I layered and popped up.  The scallop edge is also a die cut and the 'lace' is a border punch;.

Supplies:
Paper - old olive c/s from SU, pink c/s from stash, "hippy girl" DSP from Kaisercraft
Stamp - "afterthoughts" from SU
Ink - hot pink Tombow marker
Tools - Fiskars "lace" border punch, corner rounder
Other - old olive ribbon from SU, Kaisercraft "floss" paper flower, Prima sculptured flowers
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, dimensionals, large zot

Happy weekend to all.  Usual round of sport for us and maybe a nice lunch with my mum and sister on Sunday.

More hippie chick and some cake photos

Three photos to share with you today.  One card and two of my beautiful "rainbow logical" birthday cake.  This card reminds me of the smarties on my cake! It uses a couple of die cuts from the pad and some strips cut from the borders paper.  The tag is a die cut too and I edged it with ink.

Supplies:
Paper - cream marle c/s from stash, "hippie chick" DSP from Kaisercraft.
Stamp - "share a cup" from SU
Ink - elegant eggplant from SU
Tools - sponge dauber
Other - raisin ribbon from Spotlight, aubergine paper flower from Kaisercraft
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, large glue dot, dimensionals

Now to the cake! The first shot is with the candles - very generous under-representation of my age!!  The second is the cutting of the cake.  Luckily the knife came out clean so I didn't have to kiss the nearest boy! (cringe from my son)  It was rainbow inside too as it was a marble cake.

Pick an occasion

Hi.  I deliberately didn't put a sentiment on this card because I thought it was one of those ones that would suit many different occasions.  I could see it being for a birthday, wedding or new baby.  When the time comes I will add the appropriate sentiment. The edging pieces are die cuts from the paper pad.

Supplies:
Paper - cream marle c/s from stash, "hippie chick" DSP from Kaisercraft
Tools - corner rounder
Other - pearl trim from Craft Queen, pearls from Kaisercraft
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip

It was my birthday yesterday and the kids really spoilt me with beautiful handmade cards with heart warming words inside.  They also gave me breakfast in bed and cooked dinner which we followed with claudia's "rainbowlogical" marble cake decorated with hundreds and thousands and smarties.  I got such a colourful cake because I "deserve happiness".  How could you not love such kids to bits?!!!  I feel very blessed.

Hippie chick

Love the name of this paper pad by Kaisercraft and love love love the papers! The 3d flower is fussy cut from the patterned paper, scrunched, layered, sponged on the edges and secured with a brad.  The sentiment panel shape was a gift from a friend so I don't know if it's a die cut or a punch - sorry! Both it and the glittered floral paper are popped up and the sentiment panel has been sponged around the edges.  The sentiment was hand-coloured then stamped as I didn't want the whole of the image. The little floral flourish is stamped off first to give a subtle effect.

Supplies:
Paper - pink c/s from stash, "hippie chick" DSP from Kaisercraft
Stamp - "afterthoughts" and "tiny tags" from SU
Ink - dark purple Tombow marker, elegant eggplant and marina mist from SU
Tools - sponge dauber
Other - antique brad from SU, raisin ribbon from Spotlight
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals, sticky strip and glue dots

More "hippie chick" over the next couple of days. Hope you are enjoying the weather - sunshine...aaah!

Happy crafting!

Twinkle twinkle....

Last space card for now. I think this one may need some tweaking.  I feel the need to add another tag.  What do you think? I love the red paper and am thinking it would also make spectacular "mod" Christmas paper.  The flying saucer square is mounted on red card stock and popped up. The tags are attached to the brads with linen thread.  The tags actually read "4 you" - but the red 'you' is not showing up in the photo! The stamp was hand coloured, breathed on then stamped.

Supplies:
Paper - red textured c/s from stash, "blast off" DSP from Bo Bunny, whisper white c/s from SU
Stamp - "tiny tags" from SU
Ink - daffodil delight from SU, navy and red markers from Tombow
Tools - jewellery tag punch from SU, 2mm punch from Fiskars
Other - star brads from stash, linen thread from SU
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals

Next up some birthday cards and general cards for the friends in your life.

Happy crafting!
