Lovely in lilac

Today's effort is a "use up some stash" piece. The DSP is lightly glittered.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - lilac and orange c/s from stash, DSP  from stash
Other - rub-on from stash, Kaisercraft mauve rhinestones
Adhesive - snail

Gradually whittling down my stash. It's so easy to get caught up in having to have the latest new and 'shiny' thing. This year is teaching me to look at my current things with new and more appreciative eyes.  That doesn't mean that I still don't want the latest, and sometimes things are just too good to miss out on, but I am learning to be more discerning!  Good luck on your crafting journey.

Happy crafting!

Troop card

Here's another one for the Troops. A CAS card really. The top panel is popped up as is the sentiment panel.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - cherry cobbler and whisper white c/s from SU, retired SU DSP
Stamp - "heard from the heart" by SU
Ink - Tombow markers
Other - Kaisercraft red rhinestones
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals

Only 4 more months to go before we deliver our cards to the Troops. I have been a bit slack lately so am going to discipline myself to have one day a week making festive cards.  Also have a big Fair coming up the end of October and want to try making some new off the page things for that so I had better get a wriggle on!

Happy crafting!

Another birthday

This one uses the same sentiment stamp as yesterday - I think I might just like it a teensy little bit!! I tried to let the papers speak for themselves.  This was one of those paper pads that I got primarily for one paper pattern and have struggled to use the rest of the pack.  Won't do that again!

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - black c/s from SU, green DSP from Crate paper "snow day", stripe DSP from Prima "paisley road"
Stamp - "so happy for you" by SU (sale-a-bration)
Ink - Memento black
Other - black and hot pink rhinestones from Kaisercraft, flowers by Prima
Adhesive - snail, glue dots

Craft show was great - lots of ideas floating around my head!  Claudia and I learnt how to make crochet flowers.  Now we just have to practice our new skill.  Luckily it's holidays so we have the time.

Happy crafting!

Birthday wishes

Grey is probably not the usual colour associated with birthdays but paired with other colours it comes up very nicely and not at all gloomy!!  These two cards both use the same sentiment stamp.

Card 1: The sentiment panel is hand cut into the banner shape and edged with Kindyglitz.  It also popped up.With metallic card I have found that snail is not a very effective adhesive so I have used double sided tape.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - Black c/s from stash, silver metallic and whisper white c/s from SU, glitter DSP from stash
Stamp - "so happy for you" set from SU (sale-a-bration)
Ink - Memento black
Tools - paper piercer (to pierce hole in ribbon to put brad through)
Other - silver ribbon scrap, silver heart brad, Kindyglitz "crystalina"
Adhesive - double sided tape, dimensionals

Card 2: Again a hand cut banner that has the edges inked and is popped up.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - pale plum c/s from SU, various retired DSP from SU
Stamp - "so happy for you" from SU (sale-a-bration)
Ink - Memento black, lovely lilac from SU
Tools - sponge dauber
Other - Prima leaf, mulberry flower from Stash, Prima flower, Kaisercraft mauve rhinestones
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals, glue dots

Have a good day.  Almost the weekend - Yay!

Yay - it worked!! and a boxed set.

Another boxed set for you today. The first card reads "so happy for you" but it should read 'so happy for me!' - uploading finally worked.  Each card uses the same stamp set and same method so I will only do one supply list at the end.  I CASED this from the summer mini sale-a-bration catalogue.  I used marker direct to rubber to colour each image then breathed on it and stamped.  I then stamped the second row of each card on scrap again, fussy cut and mounted on tiny foam dots. I then covered them with crystal effects

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - very vanilla c/s from SU
Stamp - "so happy for you" from SU sale-a-bration promotion
Ink - Tombow markers
Other - crystal effects
Adhesive - tiny foam dots

Hope you like! Off to a big craft fair tomorrow where I am going to do some classes and learn how to crochet with my daughter.  She has been wanting to learn for ages so tomorrow is D-Day. Wish us luck!

Rub-ons

I love rub-ons but often forget to use them. I got these white "stitches" rub-ons many moons ago and finally have had a go at using them.  Bought some black ones at the same time.  I have edged both sides of the horizontal striped piece with a rub-on and also placed one down the side of the red panel. The sentiment panel is sponged with red chalk and popped up. The tiny flower is fussy cut from the DSP.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - old olive c/s from SU, DSP from SU, whisper white c/s from SU
Stamp - retired SU
Ink - old olive from SU, generic red chalk
Tools - fancy corner rounder from CM, sponge dauber
Other - rub-ons from stash, certainly celery tafetta ribbon from SU
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals, glue dots

Scrap club today and a lot of fun.  Got 5 cards made and 2 part made (needed embellishments and sentiments that I hadn't bought with me).  I must admit though that 4 of the cards I went on to improve once I got home.  Will share later.  Claudia made three great cards too including a Christmas card for the troops.  Have a great weekend.

Faux stitching

Tried my hand at some faux stitching with today's card. In my case faux is better than real as I am not the world's best sewer! Love embroidery but straight lines and I don't mix. One of the square panels and the lime backing panel are glittered.  The green squares are popped up and the faux stitching was done with a white gel pen.

My daughter and I watched a sweet movie today - "Life as we know it". A feel good rom/com. We try and watch a movie together each week as some mother/daughter time. Enjoy your week.

Masculine birthday

Thought it was about time I made another "boy" card!  Very easy to get tied up in ribbon (ha ha), flowers and gems! This one uses the other half of the punched sentiment piece from yesterdays card.  It sort of looks like one of those old fashioned moustaches!  The yellow panel is popped up on the blue and the sentiment is popped up on that. The sponging goes all the way around the card and on the sentiment panel.  I wanted a grungy look to it all.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - gloss white c/s from stash, My minds eye "hattie" DSP, cream marle c/s from stash
Stamp - retired SU
Ink - early espresso from SU
Tools - curly label punch from SU, sponge dauber
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals

Rainy and cold here but the sporting committments roll on.  Luckily at most fields I can stay in the car (warm) and still see the game! It's the start of the ski season so I hope all this precipitation is coming as snow for the resorts.  Have a great weekend.

A Note (not musical!!)

Todays card uses the colouring direct to the stamp technique.  The effects you can get are fabulous.  To create the sentiment panel I stamped then punched using the curly label punch.  I then punched again using the same punch to get a mini fancy label.  The pink handmade paper is torn.  Suprise, suprise - no sponging!

Supplies:
Paper - cream marle c/s from stash, pink handmade paper from stash
Stamp - sentiment (retired SU) , flower "echoes of kindness" by SU
Ink - pink Tombow marker, old olive marker and pad by SU
Tools - curly label punch by SU
Adhesive - snail

Circle circus

This would have to be one of my favourite SU stamp sets - "circle circus".  It is so versatile and fun.  I have made these 3 cards using mostly the new colours to illustrate some of the possibilities.  Your imagination is the limit.

Card 1: 3 stamps from the set - each in a different colour.  Some ribbon , flowers and a rhinestone brad and voila!

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - gloss white c/s from stash
Stamp - "circle circus" from SU
Ink - daffodil delight, bashful blue (ret) and cajun craze from SU
Other - ribbon from American crafts, flowers from stash, leaves from Prima, rhinestone brad (in yellow flower) "circle ice" from SU
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, large zots

Card 2: 4 different stamps from the set and more new colours.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - gloss white c/s from stash
Stamp - "circle circus" from SU
Ink - marina mist, pear pizzazz and blushing bride from SU
Other - marina mist ribbon from SU, antique brad from SU
Adhesive - sticky strip, glue dots

Card 3: 3 different stamps and more new colours.  Tried to make a rosette with the lace trim and antique brad but was not entirely successful! Back to the drawing board....

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - gloss white c/s from stash
Stamp - "circle circus" from SU
Ink - early espresso, sahara sand and cherry cobbler from SU
Other - lace trim from SU, ribbon from American crafts, antique brad from SU
Adhesive - sticky strip, glue dots

See how many different stamps you get, and how many patterns you can make!!  It's my 'go to' set for whenever I need a background.  Stamped in silver and gold it makes fabulous Christmas backgrounds.

Happy crafting!

Thank you card

Sorry this looks a bit blurry but its taken late at night and my flash would not work for some strange reason. I have raided the stash for this one!  The flowers are from an SU DSP called "urban garden" (ret).  The smaller blue ones are from one pattern and the large green one from another. I have used a combination of dimensionals and foam squares to add dimension.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - Blue dots - unknown DSP from stash, flowers fussy cut from "urban garden" DSP by SU
Other - rub-on from stash, old olive ribbon from SU
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals, foam squares, glue dots.

After the trouble with this one I have given up and will wait for daylight!

Today's card features freebie paper from Simply Cards magazine.  I love the stitch pattern! The little flowers are cut out and popped up.  The sentiment is cut out and layered. Ink - white gel pen
Other - Kaisercraft pearl pearls

Die cut flowers

I was given these die cut flowers by Karen and resisting the urge to hoard I have used them!!  I don't know what die was used but I want one!

Stamp - retired SU
Ink - chocolate chip from SU
Tools - die cutting machine and die, stamp-a-ma-jig
Other - rich razzleberry spot ribbon from SU, Kaisercraft mint rhinestones
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, dimensionals

Card 2: I free hand cut the stems and leaves (couldn't possibly tell could you! :) ) The red flower is popped up.  This is the CAS card for the day.

Stamp - retired SU
Ink - memento black
Tools - die cutting machine and die, stamp-a-ma-jig
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals

That's it for today. hope you have a good start to the week.

Fussy madness!

Only one card today because it took me soooo long to do! The image is from a paper pack from last Christmas that was a magazine freebie (sorry - can't remember which one). I fussy cut it and then adhered it to the c/s after stamping a background in Versamark. The ornaments and scalloped edge are highlighted with Kindyglitz. To finish the card I topped it with a circle clip tied with ribbon scraps. It looks very sparkly in real life.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - rich razzleberry and whisper white c/s from SU, magazine freebie DSP
Stamp - snowflakes from "snow swirled" by SU
Ink - Versamark
