Vintage Timeless Birthday

Hello, Hello.  I tried something new for me today - creating my own background!  There are so many lovely background stamps out there that I just want, want, want - but can't afford!  So I decided to try my hand at creating my own.  It was fun and I am pleased with the effect.  I went for a tone on tone effect with a darker image as a highlight. I layered the DSP onto some co-ordinating c/s and sponged the edges of the sentiment and popped it up.

Supplies:
Paper - cream marle c/s from stash, soft suede c/s from SU, "vintage timeless" DSP  - non - SU
Stamp - "clearly for you" from SU
Ink - soft suede (background stamping and sponging) and early espresso stamp pads from SU
Tools - modern label punch from SU
Other "latte" pearls from stash
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals

Fingers crossed for no rain on Saturday - I want to make a good amount of money at the market as I promised myself that when I started the markets I would only buy new stock from the profits and I have a wish list a mile long!!  The joys of running a business - or should I say trying to start one up!!  I don't expect to become the next Bill Gates but a little hobby business that keeps me out of mischief will suit me just fine.  I should have done this years ago but in my younger days I bought into the whole "corporate is good" story.  To be honest it was soul destroying! I find that entering wholeheartedly into the creative arts is a wonderful and joyous experience and I have met the most amazing and inspirational people in person and also read about them on the blogs out there.  You women are fantastic and give this woman hope for the future!!  Keep up the good work!

Happy crafting!

Baa baa black sheep baby card

Hello - hope you are having a great day!  I dug out some old stamps for today's card - oldies but goodies.  It is gender neutral as I have found that not everyone wants pink or blue when buying a baby card.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU
Stamp - "sheep border" , "for baby"
Ink - basic black and poppy parade stamp pads from SU
Other - spotted ribbon , black rhinestones
Adhesive - sticky strip, glue dots

I have a market on Saturday so have to get busy over the next two days and make some more cards to sell.  I like to have some new things for people to see each time I am there.  Hope you are getting some crafting time in - til tomorrow...

Happy crafting!

Wedding card

It's afternoon here and cold with drips of rain.  Not ideal wedding weather!!  However today's card is for just such an event.  Because of the weather I had to take the photo indoors and that is why it looks sort of yellowy. It's really cream, soft blue and fawn.  The sentiment was stamped on vellum and punched out then sponged.  The paper is some scraps -  but I can't for the life of me remember the pattern!

Supplies:
Paper - very vanilla c/s from SU,  scraps and die cuts, vellum
Stamp - "teeny tiny sentiments" from SU
Ink - bordering blue (R) from SU
Tools - oval scallop punch from SU, sponge dauber
Other - "pearl" pearls from stash
Adhesive - vellum adhesive strips, snail

Hope you are having a good week.

Happy crafting!

Happy birthday

Today's offering features two cards using "cheerful treat" DSP from Stampin' Up (SU).  I love the bright colours of this paper set.  The stamps are SU as well.

This first one uses a corner piece of paper as the background and another strip of co-ordinating paper is pleated across the top to look like a ribbon.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU, "cheerful treat" DSP from SU
Stamp - I think it is "happiest birthday" from SU
Ink - pixie pink (R) from SU
Other - hot pink rhinestones from Kaisercraft
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip

This one uses the same paper pack but the sentiment is popped.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white c/s from SU, "cheerful treat" DSP from SU, purple c/s from stash
Stamp - "happiest birthday" again
Ink - lovely lilac (R) from SU
Tools - extra large oval punch from SU
Other - green organza ribbon from SU (sale-a-bration)
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, dimensionals

It's also a sort of happy birthday to this blog too as it's now been up and running for just over a year!!
Off to the markets next week and the week after so I have to get cracking on some new stock!  My Mojo has gone south lately so I will be haunting the sketch sites in blog land for some inspiration. I will also be getting some new "toys" in the next week so hopefully that will rev me up!  Hope you have a great weekend and get some crafting time in.

Happy crafting!

Welcome Baby

Hello everyone - so sorry I have been so slack.  It's been a combination of illness and then my kids got back from their holiday to America and Canada and I just wanted to spend every available minute with them!!  They had a fabulous time and have some wonderful memories.

They spoilt me with some crafting goodies and an alien toy from Toy Story.  The aliens were my favourite!

Everything is back to normal now with school and uni.  I even made it back to card class today and after such a long break it was fabulous to see everyone again and also get my creative juices revved up again.

Today's offering is one I made a while ago.  It uses Kaisercraft paper some punches and "teeny tiny sentiments" from Stampin' Up.  A very useful set with approx. 18 (that's a guess - it might be more!!) sentiments for all occasions.  I drew little circles all around the edge of the scalloped oval with a Tombow marker.

Supplies:
Paper - whisper white and sahara sand c/s from SU, Kaisercraft papers.
Stamp - "teeny tiny sentiments" from SU
Ink - bordering blue stamp pad from SU, Tombow marker
Tools - scallop oval punch, decorative label punch
Adhesive - snail, dimensionals

Back to Scrapturday tomorrow and Merry Monday after the weekend.  Feels good to be back to normal!!

Happy crafting!
