This half of the year is busy with birthdays for our little family - mine in August, Stirling in October and Claudia in November.. I have posted my son's card but here are some photos of the cake! Chocolate of course - flourless. It has little football boots and footballs on it in honor of his umpiring. (There is a card at the end of the post).
This is Stirling and Hannah cutting the cake with Stirling wearing his new Sydney Swans jersey courtesy of Hannah (his girlfriend).
Now to Claudia's birthday - chocolate cake again. As an aside - a chocolate chain here in Australia has a tin that reads "chocolate is good for you" - I so want it!! She turned 16 so there are 15 sugar flowers and one candle.
A view of the cut cake. It also had silver cachous sprinkled on it. The flowers are shop bought - I haven't ventured into the world of sugar craft!
Our dog Schnitzel looking longingly at what he can't have!
Last but not least Claudia's card. She loves owls so it was a no brainer as to the theme! I borrowed the stamp set from a friend and the co-ordinating punch so it was easy to do. Claudia received the punch as a birthday gift so she is very happy. The owls are stepped up on dimensionals from the top (flat to the card) to the red one (three dimensionals stacked). It's a larger card so no envelope, and it's tent fold.
Supplies:
Paper - whisper white and bashful blue from SU
Stamp - "punch bunch" and "bring on the cake" from SU
Ink - tempting turquoise, pear pizzaz, old olive, pink pirouette, bordering blue and poppy parade from SU
Tools - owl builder punch from SU, Cuttlebug and "swiss dots" embossing folder, decorative label punch
Other - googly eyes from stash, spotted ribbon from stash, Kaisercraft pale blue rhinestones
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, dimensionals, glue dots
Happy crafting!
Cheers
Susie
