Handmade flowers

I attend a regular card making class to learn new techniques (and chat!).  At the last one Karen showed us how to make our own paper flowers using the scallop circle punch from SU.  Super easy and mega effective!
The ones we made at Karen's were out of brown packing paper and used twelve layers.  Go to her blog - Paper Lady (on sidebar) to see her fantastic examples.  I found that when using DSP that 6 layers were sufficient.

This first card I made the flower out of cottage wall DSP from SU and snipped each scallop to make individual petals.  I also tipped them with kindyglitz -  but it doesn't show in the photo (damn).

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - rich razzleberry c/s from SU, "cottage wall" DSP from SU, mauve c/s from stash.
Stamp - "Baroque motifs" from SU
Ink - rich razzleberry from SU
Tools - scallop circle punch from SU, small single hole punch
Other - "circle ice" rhinestone brad from SU, crystal effects (flowers and butterfly), kindyglitz (vines and tips of petals), Kaisercraft plum pearls
Adhesive - snail, large zot.

This next one uses various scrap pieces of DSP (can't remember their names - sorry).  I also snipped the petals on this one.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - Rich razzleberry c/s from SU, various scraps of DSP from SU, dark pink c/s from stash, old olive and chocolate chip c/s from SU
Tools - scallop circle punch from SU, small single hole punch
Other - scrap rub-ons from stash, "circle ice" rhinestone brad from SU, American crafts ribbon
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, glue dots, large zot

This last one I didn't snip the petals but scrunkled the paper more.

Supplies:
Card -
Paper - rich razzleberry c/s from SU, mauve c/s from stash, DSP from SU
Tools - scallop circle punch from SU, small single hole punch
Other - rich razzleberry spotted ribbon from SU, "circle ice" rhinestone brad from SU, Kaisercraft mint rhinestones
Adhesive - snail, sticky strip, large zot

Just realised the sub-text of this post is rich razzleberry!

Happy crafting!
Cheers
Susie

  1. Totally gorgeous - particularly like the first one with the red pearls.

  2. There is a hole punch I really want that I heard SU makes, but I am unfamiliar with the company. Is SU their full name, and do they have a website?

    Thanks!
